Kaifang Pan, Assistant Executive Manager China
About three years ago, I was working in advertising having graduated from university. I knew then that it was not a job for me and had been contemplating about a change of environment for a long while. Then one day as I was researching on what my dream job, I found myself drawn to the fresh and distinctive logo of VQ Juice. At the time, I had little idea of what fresh fruit business was about. But something told me that I just had to find out more about it, So I immediately called VQ’s founder Mr Yang and arranged for an interview. My interview was successful and I started working in one of the stores in Beijing (At the time, VQ was still in its infancy – only two juice bars were trading in the capital).
At first, I had to familiarise myself with the whole juice production process which took some practice. After a while, fresh juice making became second nature to me. After three years, my passion in VQ is as strong as ever and the best part of the business is I can share this passion with my customers everyday.
When I first started, my annual salary was ¥24,000. At the time, money was less importance to me than opportunity to learn and to develop myself. I guess I was very fortunate to have found my direction with VQ so early in my life. I have seen so many people who had come across VQ but have not taken it on board and I feel sad for them.
Today, after 3 years’ hard work at VQ, my salary has reached ¥200,000 per year, exceeding all my expectations as a 25 year old. This also reflects VQ’s philosophy on staff development: there is no limit on rewards if you are willing to succeed. To me, the future at VQ is bright and exciting and I can’t wait for what the next 3 years will bring.
